Someday...Monday

Hello, Hello! Happy Monday! It's time for another Someday...Monday.

Okay, I realize it is winter. We had both snow and rain over the weekend. But I saw this swimsuit and loved it! Of course it looks so cute on this teeny-tiny model...

Swimsuit Here

I'm sure you don't want to put a swimsuit on yet! (I know I don't) I read a fabulous book over the weekend... Lose your Mummy Tummy by Julie Tupler and Jodie Gould

The “mummy tummy” is another term for “diastasis recti”. It is a condition where the abdominal muscles get stretched out and separate. It happens during pregnancy because of the strain of carrying the baby. It causes the belly to pooch out (Yes, I have a pooch). It can also occur with excessive exercise or improper lifting of heavy objects. And do you know what else? Sit-ups make it worse!

I loved this book, and I have already started doing some of the exercises. I want to be ready to put on a cute new swimsuit this summer!

Oh, I have such a "Mummy Tummy"! I thought it would take surgery to fix it, though, because my muscles had separated. I would love to find out that exercises would help!

I also have a mummy tummy. I really didn't think there would ever be hope to lose it. I just started my quest back to the gym this past week and I am going to have to find this book now. Thanks!

I checked out this book from our library after researching the cost to repair my diastasis issue. My muscles separated with each pregnancy but it didn't go back after my third. I was ready for a tummy tuck. BUT as a last ditch effort I got this book. I started following some basics in this book and soon I started seeing a difference! I made sure that my muscles were strong enough before starting up running and exercising again. When I started out, I just would not do some things in pilates class because my muscles weren't ready. Now, I just apply the concepts to everything I am doing- sitting, pilates, running, etc. I am a small girl so that pooch was looking like I was pregnant (even though I was 1 yr post partum from my third!). I was so embarrassed when people would ask me things to find out if I was pregnant. The book is great! You don't have to be post pregnancy! Anytime. Sorry for a long comment. I'll stop now : )

Thanks for sharing!
I just had my first little one and even though most everything seems back to normal there is a pooch that I never had before.
I'll be looking for this book at half.com!!!

Nice suit. There was a time, when I could of worn a suit like that - but the deal is, when you're young and thin - you think you're fat and not good enough. Now I look back at my old pictures and think, "what was I thinking?" I'd give anything to revisit my old days to be able to wear something like that again. Wow! DH would love it too!

I'm definitely intrigued! I feel like since I had my son 3 years ago, no matter how much I exercise or how fit the rest of my body is, I just can't get rid of that annoying pooch! Thanks for sharing at shine on fridays!!
